As pins are handmade items they are rarely ever totally perfect. I do my best to grade them based on whether their flaws are noticeable at arm's length (B grades) or barely visible at close inspection (standard grade). You may receive your pins with any details depending on the grade you choose. Note I would never sell anything that greatly differs from my original design.
- A graded or standard may present: small, but not noticeable, air bubbles, slight enamel under fill in some areas, some light imperfections in the metal plating
surface scuffing or very light scratches on the enamel or metal, light nicks on the enamel or metal, slightly misaligned screen print that cover a few metal lines,
not noticeable plating imperfections on the front of the pin, light rust in the back of the pin, not noticeable dust specks in the enamel. - B grades are close to standard but flaws are somewhat more noticeable and may present: missing enamel in very small areas, small areas of chipped metal, moving posts, low-fill or overfill/spillover of enamel in large areas, noticeable bubbles, scratches or dents, slightly discolored or tarnished plating in the front or side, stains in the enamel that don't change the overall aspect of the pin, scratched or medium-largely misaligned screen printing.
C grades won't be sold online in the meantime, but they present all B grades flaws in larger quantities and are more easily noticeable. I would only sell these at events or artists alleys at production cost so those who don't mind these flaws can clearly see the them and hand pick them.
